I am so pumped to be working with the Appleseed Cast again, one of my favorite bands. They’ve been working hard and taking names for years, so I am glad to help them in any way that I can.

I created this tour poster for them:

I’m been really experimenting with textures and creating a sense of contrasting scales. I’m really pleased with the results.

The poster is an 18 x 24 inch four color screen printed poster on 100 lb white cover paper in an edition of 120. All copies and signed and numbered by me.

The band told me that they sold out of these posters midway through the tour, so I am selling my copies in my online store right now for $25 each.

I also created an art print version of this poster in an edition of 40, which is available in the Various Prints section of my online store for $30 each. All copies and signed and numbered by me.

If you’re a fan of the Appleseed Cast, please stay tuned, we plan to work on more stuff soon.

To see all the photos I took of the prints, please check out this slide show:

I was struck to the core by this poster. It’s pretty epic.

I checked out your shop, but when I clicked on the “add to cart” link for this poster, it just took me to a flickr image of the poster.

I really enjoy your process videos, and I was wondering if you’d make one sometime that touches on the part of the process between drawing and printing- the part where you assemble all your rad drawings and textures and do some computer magic. That’s the part I’m having a hard time with- getting my drawn art into a form I can print, thinking in layers and using the computer.

    Hi Mikaela,

Thanks for giving it a shot, but the poster and the art print are both sold out. I took down the button.

Have you seen the other process videos in my youtube channel? I have covered that aspect extensively? (DUNE process video, RANT process video, etc).

If there’s something specific you want to see, let me know and I’ll keep it in mind.

This is beautiful. I saw the poster on Tumblr (someone had reblogged it), I clicked through, and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was for The Appleseed Cast, a band that I had the pleasure to “discover” just a few months ago (I put discovered in quotes because they’ve been around for awhile!). Your style is very unique, and your color selection creates an awesome mood.

These images are great, I’d love to see how you do your separations for screen, what mesh and screen ruling are you using any angles for the halftone. What are you using to expose your screens.

I just picked up my poster at the show in Philly last week. I was introduced to your work by the west coast tour poster you recently did for them. This is the first of your posters i’ve had the chance to see in person, and I am floored sir. Fantastic job on every front. Do you screen them yourself?

    Hi Doug,
Thanks for getting my work and for supporting the Appleseed Cast, those guys are the awesomest group of guys ever.

I haven’t screen printed my own work for a while. I have a friend print my work these days.
