A LOOK INTO PACKING AND SHIPPING

I’m sure lots of you have seen process photo sets about printing and drawing posters, but no one really shows you an aspect of posters that is pretty important; packing and shipping. Packing and shipping is important because you could have hundreds of sales, but that mountain of sales won’t mean anything unless you can find a way to efficiently ship them. Otherwise, shipping can take longer than the drawing and printing of the posters you sold.

I learned the hard way after I got an influx of orders that I was not prepared to handle. I did a little research, had helpful friends, and now, I am better prepared. That was then, this is now.

I made a video that shows you how I roll. It also shows that I did pack and ship the Mogwai orders, so here’s some confirmation for any of you that ordered that poster.

These are 4 X 6 in labels that are pre divided on this roll. I don’t know how many are on the roll, but that number is in the hundreds. They work with Endicia software on my computer and are fed through my Zebra LP2488 thermal printer. The labels print almost instantly and use zero ink.

Endicia is software that works directly with the United States Postal Service. You pay a monthly fee and buy postage through the software. From there, you simply open your email or paypal account, copy and paste the address, select a shipping preset, press print, tear, peel, and stick. Endicia is not the only game in town, but their software makes every aspect of shipping and tracking available in one window and it’s easy to learn.

I’m told that the Uline tape is 3M tape, but it works well for me and I just add them to my existing Uline orders when I need them. They cost about $1.99 each and work great for shipping and screen printing.
